As a senior practitioner, Michael continues to develop an extensive litigation practice in matters involving liability, insurance coverage and transportation matters. He regularly deals with a wide range of coverage and subrogation defense work, from straight forward to very complicated cases. He is recognized as being very knowledgeable and experienced in specialized areas such as aviation and transportation.
Michael is an active member of the insurance community and speaks often at conferences and seminars on issues of interest.
Michael obtained his Bachelor of Arts Honours degree from Bishop’s University in 1978 followed by his law degree from McGill University in 1981. He was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1982.
He has been listed in the book “The Best Lawyers in Canada” since 2006 in the field of Insurance law and he is also listed in the 2024 edition of CANADIAN LEGAL LEXPERT DIRECTORY in the areas of Commercial Insurance Litigation, as well as Aviation.
Michael’s interest in aviation law has earned him recognition in the Lexology Index: Canada 2026 (formerly Who’s Who Legal) as a leading aviation lawyer, a distinction he has held annually from 2018 through 2026.
Outside of his legal career, Michael is an amateur historian with a particular interest in Montreal and Quebec history.
